**NEW WINTER PROGRAM UPDATES**

Silverspring Community Association Children's Youth Programs Winter 2012:

Babysitting Course - Dr. John G. Egnatoff School 6:30 - 8:30pm Mondays from Mar 5 - Mar 26 (4 classes) OR St. Volodymyr School SAT/SUN 9-1pm Apr 21 - Apr22. Certified St.Johns Ambulance Course. Manual is included in registration fee and student must bring and infant sized doll or stuffed animal to class. Students must attend all classes to receive certificate.Saturday/Sunday participants should bring a sizable snack. Participants must be at least 12 years old by the of the class.
Floor Hockey - 6-8 yrs at St.Volodymyr School 6:00 - 7 :00 pm Thursdays, Jan 26 - Mar 29
Floor Hockey - 9-12 yrs at St.Volodymyr School 7 :00 - 8:00pm Thursdays, Jan 26 - Mar 29 . CANCELLED DATES (Floor Hockey - Both Age groups): FEB 23.
Intermediate Dance - 5-7 yrs at Silversrping school small gym Fridays 6:35 - 7:15pm, Jan 27 - Apr 20. Interactive class taught by a qualified instructor to introduce preschool aged and younger school aged children the basic steps of ballet, tap, and jazz. This class is non- competitive and includes fun instruction and positive encouragement CANCELLED DATES: TBA
Learn to Draw - 6-9 yrs at Forest Grove School Library tuesday from 6:00 - 7:00 pm and 10-14 yrs. from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, Jan 24-Mar 27. *Learn the basics of drawing with a qualified instructor. CANCELLED DATE: TBA
HIp Hop Dance - 6-9 yrs at Mother Theresa school gym tuesdays from 7:40-8:10pm and 10-14 yrs from 8:15 - 8:45pm. Jan 24 - Apr 10. * Learn the latest hip hop moves in this fun and energetic dance to modern music. Hip hop is a good way to exercise to funky music. CANCELLED DATE: TBA
CANCELLED - Kids Yoga - 7-14 yrs at Silversrping school small gym wednesdays from 6:20 - 7:10pm, Jan 18 - Apr 4. *This is an interactive class that combines movement and balance for children. The class is geared to teach body awareness in a positive and relaxed environment while promoting wellness. This is open to boys and girls. Please bring a mat if you have one. CANCELLED DATES: TBA
Cartooning - 9-12 yrs at Dr. J.G. Egnatoff school library wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:00pm, Jan 18 - Mar 28 . Do you like to doodle and you want to cartoon? In this 10 class program you will learn the basics from start to finish. CANCELLED DATES: TBA ****Materials required for first class are 2 Black Sharpies - 1 Fine, 1 Ultra Fine, 2 or 3 Pencils - Pencil Crayons optional, 1 Drawing Pad - Minimum 11" x 14" with 50 pages Natural white paper or white newsprint.****

Cheerleading - 8-11yrs at Dr. J.G. Egnatoff school small gym Mondays from 6:00 - 7:00pm, Jan 16 - Mar 26. In this 10-week program you will learn the flips, lifts, moves and much more. CANCELLED DATE: TBA
Co-Ed Youth Dodgeball - 10-13 yrs at Silversrping school small gym fridays from 8:25 - 9:05pm (NOTE: This session is 40 minutes long) and 13-15 yrs from 9:10 - 10:10pm; Jan 20 - Mar 30. This hour of fun must be supervised by a parent each week. A parent rotation will be scheduled following registration to ensure safe and fair play for everyone. Get the lead out with this high energy-burning game. CANCELLED DATES: TBA
